My Recent Documents contain all the recent documents that you have opened and used. Over time, all the files can become quite large and can result to a slow computer. To clean it up, you need to open Regedit and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows CurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer. Create a DWORD value named ClearRecentDocsOnExit. You will then have to enter a data value of 1.
